About Putt Panic
Putt Panic is side-view mini golf with a mean streak. Pull back from anywhere on the screen like a slingshot and let go: the length of your pull sets the power, the dots show how the ball takes off, and real physics does the rest: the ball bounces, rolls, slows down on grass, dies in sand, slides forever on ice and flies off rubber walls. Twelve holes start friendly and turn nasty fast. A pond costs you a stroke. A windmill's sails block the tunnel unless you time your shot. A cup with eyes runs away to a ledge the moment you get close. Spikes at the bottom of a pit send you all the way back to the tee, a rickety bridge collapses under a rolling ball, a headwind blows high shots back and the final hole is a climb up three ledges. Every hole has a par, and finishing at par or better earns three stars. Hole-in-ones are possible on more holes than you would think: every hole is played through by a computer golfer in our tests, using shots that still work when the aim is slightly off. Putt Panic plays free in your browser with a mouse, a finger or the keyboard.
How to play
Press anywhere, pull back and let go to hit the ball: the ball flies the opposite way to your pull, and a longer pull hits harder. With a keyboard, aim with the left and right arrows, set the power with up and down and press Space. Get the ball in the cup in as few strokes as possible. Water and going out of bounds cost a stroke; spikes and some pits send you back to the tee. Press R to restart a hole.

Why did the cup move?īŧ
That is Shy Cup: hole 7. It runs away the first time your ball comes close. Look where it went and try again.
How do I get three stars?īŧ
Finish a hole in par or fewer strokes. One over par gives two stars, anything else one.
Is every hole fair?īŧ
Yes. Our tests play every hole with stored shots and check that each shot still works when the angle or power is a little off, so no hole needs a pixel-perfect shot.
I am stuck on a hole. Can I skip it?īŧ
After four strokes over par, the pause menu offers to skip the hole by watching a short ad.
