About Festival Dash

Festival Dash is a three lane runner set in an Indian bazaar on Diwali night. Your runner sprints on by themselves with a sparkler held high, and you keep them safe: change lanes to get round fruit carts, decorated cows and oncoming auto rickshaws, jump the marigold fences, and slide under the low banners strung across the road. Every lit diya on the street is yours to grab, and a clean streak makes each one ring a little higher. Power ups help on the busy stretches. A magnet pulls in every diya nearby, a shield takes one bump for you, and a golden sparkler doubles every diya for a few seconds. The run takes you through eight stages, each a different street: an old city lane at dusk, the flower market heaped with marigolds, the sweet shop market, the cracker bazaar under a sky full of fireworks, the carnival road with its giant wheel and tents, a chowk of tall havelis, the ghat road beside a river of floating lamps, and at last Deepotsav Marg, where steps covered in diyas lead to a lit temple. Stages get longer and faster as you go, and every one ends at a glowing gate. Reach it without a single bump for three stars. Clear two stages and Endless mode opens: one street that never ends and keeps speeding up, with your best score on the leaderboard. Festival Dash plays free in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Swipe on a touch screen or use the arrow keys, with no download and no account needed.

How to play

Your runner moves forward by themselves. Swipe left or right, or press the left and right arrow keys, to change lane. Swipe up or press the up arrow (or Space) to jump over the marigold fences, and swipe down or press the down arrow to slide under the low banners. Carts, cows and rickshaws block the whole lane, so move out of their way. Grab the diyas for points and the glowing bubbles for power ups. You have three lives in each stage; reach the gate at the end to clear it.

Questions

How do I play Festival Dash on a phone?īŧ‹

Swipe on the game. A swipe left or right changes lane, a swipe up jumps and a swipe down slides. Short quick swipes work best, and you can turn your phone sideways for a wider view of the street.

What should I do about each obstacle?īŧ‹

Jump the low marigold fences, slide under the hanging banners, and change lane for anything that fills the lane: hand carts, cows and auto rickshaws. Rickshaws drive towards you, so move out of their lane early.

What do the power ups do?īŧ‹

The red magnet pulls in every diya near you for ten seconds. The blue shield takes one bump without costing a life. The golden sparkler makes every diya count twice for ten seconds.

How many stages are there?īŧ‹

Eight streets: Purani Gali, Phool Bazaar, Mithai Market, Pataka Bazaar, Carnival Road, Haveli Chowk, Ghat Road and Deepotsav Marg. Each one is longer and faster than the one before, and each has three stars to win.

How do I get three stars?īŧ‹

Reach the gate without bumping into anything. One bump still earns two stars, and any finish earns one.

What is Endless mode?īŧ‹

Once you clear two stages, Endless mode opens on the start screen. The street never ends and keeps getting faster. Your score is the metres you run plus ten for every diya, and your best run goes on the leaderboard.
