Highway Rush
About Highway Rush
Highway Rush is an endless traffic racing game seen from above. Your yellow sports car speeds down a four-lane highway full of cars, vans, long trucks and yellow buses, and it never stops getting faster, from about 90 km/h at the start to well over 200 when you light the nitro. Steer left and right to slip through the gaps; every row of traffic always leaves at least one lane open, so a clean line is always there if you are quick enough to find it. Passing a vehicle by a whisker counts as a near miss: it scores bonus points, builds a combo that multiplies the next ones and refills your nitro, so the brave drivers score the most. Hold the nitro to blast forward for even more points while the meter lasts, and grab the gold coins that line up in the open lanes. One touch of another vehicle ends the run, but you can continue once by watching a short ad, and your best score is saved and shown on the leaderboard. Highway Rush is designed for phones held upright: hold the left or right side of the screen to steer and the fire button for nitro, and plays just as well with the arrow keys on a computer, free in your browser.
How to play
Hold the left or right half of the screen (or press the left and right arrow keys, or A and D) to steer between the lanes. Hold the fire button, the up arrow or Space for nitro. Avoid every other vehicle: one touch ends the run. Pass close to cars for near-miss bonuses that also refill your nitro, and collect coins in the open lanes.
Questions
How do I score more points?īŧ
Distance gives points steadily, but near misses, passing another vehicle very closely, give bonuses that grow with your combo. Nitro makes you go faster, so you cover more distance too.
Is there always a way through?īŧ
Yes. Every row of traffic leaves at least one lane free, and the free lane is never more than one lane away from the free lane of the row before, so a sharp driver can always get through.
How does the nitro work?īŧ
Hold the nitro to speed up while the meter lasts. It refills a little on its own and a lot with every near miss.
Can I play on a phone?īŧ
Yes. Highway Rush is made for phones held upright. Hold either side of the screen to steer and the fire button for nitro.
