About Wild Wheels
Wild Wheels is a physics driving game where getting to the finish flag is the whole challenge. Every level hands you a different vehicle: a nippy buggy, a long truck, a bouncy monster truck or a big yellow bus, and a short course full of things that want to tip you over: ramps and gaps, see-saws that drop you the moment you cross the middle, sagging rope bridges, stacks of wooden crates you must push into a pit to fill it, platforms that fall away a moment after you touch them, steep hills and pits lined with spikes. There are only two pedals. Gas drives forward and the left pedal brakes and reverses, and in the air the same two pedals tip the car back or forward, so every jump is a little balancing act. Land on your wheels and keep going; land on your roof and it is back to the start in a second. Fifteen levels across a green meadow, a sunny desert and a snowy mountain each award up to three stars for a fast time, and every course is driven by a test bot before release, so you know it can be done. Stuck? After six crashes you can skip a level by watching a short ad. Wild Wheels plays free in your browser with the arrow keys or big on-screen pedals on phones and tablets.
How to play
Press the right arrow (or D) or hold the green âļ pedal for gas, and the left arrow (or A) or the red â pedal to brake and reverse. In the air, gas tips the car backwards and the left pedal tips it forwards: use them to land on your wheels. Reach the checkered flag without landing on the roof, falling off the course or touching spikes. Faster finishes earn more stars. Press R to restart.
Questions
How do I stop flipping over?īŧ
Do not hold the gas all the time. In the air, tap the left pedal to bring the nose down and gas to lift it, so both wheels touch down together. On steep hills, ease off the gas if the front lifts.
How do I get past the crates?īŧ
Push them! The crates can be shoved into the pit ahead of them, where they fill the hole so you can drive across.
Which vehicles are there?īŧ
A buggy, a truck, a monster truck with huge wheels and a long bus. Each level gives you the vehicle that fits it: the bus, for example, is long enough to roll straight over small gaps.
What if a level is too hard?īŧ
After six crashes a Skip button appears. Watch a short ad to unlock the next level; you can always come back for the stars.
