Gem Match
About Gem Match
Gem Match is a sparkling match-three puzzle game with dozens of levels to play for free in your browser. Swap two neighbouring gems to line up three or more of the same kind and watch them burst, while the gems above tumble down to fill the gaps, and if the falling gems make new matches, you get a cascade worth even more points. Each gem has its own colour and its own shape, from rubies and topaz stars to emerald octagons and amethyst triangles, so the board is easy to read for everyone. Bigger matches earn special gems: line up four for a line gem that clears an entire row or column when you match it, and line up five, or make an L or T shape, for a bomb gem that blasts everything around it. Specials caught in another special's blast go off too, so a well-placed swap can set off a spectacular chain reaction. Every level gives you a number of moves and a target score; reach the target before your moves run out to complete the level, and score even higher to earn up to three stars. Levels get tougher as you go, with higher targets and fewer moves. If you get stuck, a hint shows a possible swap, and when you are just short of the target you can watch a short ad for five extra moves. Gem Match works on phones, tablets and computers with taps, swipes, a mouse or the keyboard, and your unlocked levels and stars are saved automatically.
How to play
Swap two neighbouring gems by swiping from one to the other, or by tapping one gem and then a gem next to it. A swap only counts if it lines up three or more matching gems in a row or column. Match four in a line to make a line gem (clears its row or column), and five in a line or an L/T shape to make a bomb gem (clears the 3Ã3 area around it). Reach the target score before your moves run out to finish the level; higher scores earn more stars. Press Hint (or H) to see a possible move. Keyboard: arrow keys move the cursor, Enter selects and swaps.
