About Sand Tumble
Sand Tumble is a falling-blocks puzzle where every block turns into sand the moment it lands. The grains pour down, roll off the slopes and spread out across the well, so the pile is never quite where you expect it. Join one colour of sand from the left wall to the right wall and the whole stretch shimmers and pours away in a cloud of dust; the sand above tumbles down and can line up the next colour on its own for a chain. Classic mode starts with three colours, adds a fourth at level 3 and gets a little faster every four clears. Chill mode stays slow with three colours, for when you just want to watch sand fall. Every piece is drawn grain by grain, and the sand really flows: we tested it with computer players, and thinking about where the sand will roll is what keeps a player going for minutes instead of seconds. How to play
Move the falling block with the arrow keys or by dragging, turn it with the up arrow or a tap, and drop it with Space or a quick swipe down. When it lands it becomes sand. Connect one colour all the way from the left wall to the right wall to clear it. Do not let the sand pile up to the top.
Questions
What counts as connected?οΌ
Grains of the same colour that touch, side by side or corner to corner. When one connected patch touches both walls, it clears, no matter how thin or wiggly it is.
How do chains work?οΌ
When a colour clears, the sand above falls into the gap. If that lines up another colour from wall to wall, it clears too and scores double, then triple, and so on.
What is the difference between Classic and Chill?οΌ
Classic speeds up and brings in a fourth colour at level 3. Chill keeps three colours and a slow, steady pace with no speed-ups.
